Video #12: Pull Through
With this series of short videos, I’m going to help you avoid a whole bunch of S. H. I. T.
A hamstring exercise for machine that I prefer, as opposed to the Prone Leg Curl (see video 11 of 12), is the standing Pull Through. It emulates a Deadlift, and it takes all the pressure out of your knees.
It’s important that you keep your arms and legs straight. Stand straight up. We don’t want to use momentum. Don’t hip thrust: It’s not that kind of party.
This is what happens if you bend your elbows: You’re going to ping yourself right in the hoo-haw. Straight arms. STRAIGHT ARMS.

Worried about being judged? You won’t be. Trainers work with all types of people: beginners, older adults, people with injuries, and those just starting their fitness journey. Everyone starts somewhere. Your first session is a fresh start, not a finish line.
