Suggested Gear
Here are some suggested gear items that can improve your quality of life and help you along your wellness journey. Although some may seem unrelated, they all contribute in some way to supporting your healthy lifestyle. As a personal trainer and wellness coach, I have bought these specific pieces of gear. I am suggesting them, because they have helped me personally. If you want to know my reasoning behind each suggestion, you can click the link to the blog entry review I wrote for each of them.
Body Helix: Arm Helix
Something that is helpful for both reducing pain from injuries and speeding recovery is compression therapy. I have had really great results using Body Helix. It gives very consistent, firm support without feeling constricting. It holds its shape, and it fits true to size. It doesn’t smell strange after washing, and is made to withstand lots of use. They don’t require the sometimes awkard wrapping you’ll possibly encounter with flossing bands. Learn more about this suggestion.
Floss Bands – For Muscle Compression – Mobility and Recovery
If you lift heavy, you will probably develop some tendinitis eventually. This happens when you have to grip barbells and dumbbells, or when you’re doing pullups. These floss bands support the muscles and connective tissue, and they have helped me heal faster from some intense Tennis and Golfer elbow. These might be more appropriate than sleeves if you need to get out of compression very quickly, or if you want more control over the amount of compression itself. Learn more about this suggestion.
Marcy Wrist and Forearm Developer/Strengthener Home Gym Gear – WEDGE
This wrist strengthener has helped me develop endurance and power to improve my performance for exercises that requiring pulling. When balanced with stretching, this can also help prevent or alleviate tendinitis. Learn more about this suggestion.
Wahoo TICKR X Heart Rate Monitor
To do High Intensity Interval Training safely and effectively, you must be able to control your heart rate instantly. To do this you will need a monitor. This is the one I have used for years, and I have suggested it to many clients. Learn more about this suggestion.
